Saying Good-bye

I am feeling sad today. I have to say good-bye. because my uncle passed away this morning. Not too unexpected, however, it all came about rather quickly. I know it’s what he wanted…for it all to be over, and for that I am thankful. But now he is gone and his family and those who loved him, are left to deal with the loss.

I hate dealing with loss, and saying good-bye.

family, faith, uncle, saying good-bye, loss, grieving, grieving well, hope coach

How do you say good-bye to someone who has been there ever since you can remember?

How can a person be here one minute and gone the next?

How can the life of someone you love slip away leaving you with feelings you can hardly identify, yet everything all around you, go on exactly the same…as if nothing out of the ordinary had just transpired?

How do you pick up the pieces and carry on with life as normal? One day at a time, I suppose…minute by minute, and with faith and the love and support of family and friends.

Saying good-bye is never easy. Saying good-bye to a life well lived, isn’t quite as hard, but still. Saying good-bye is a part of life and it is time to once again say good-bye to someone I love.

Good-bye dear uncle of mine. I have memories I’ll carry with me and treasure always. I was honored to have known you and honored more to have spent a small part of your last days on earth in your company.

You will be missed by many and remembered for the good man you were. I know I will see you again one day, when I depart from this world, but until that day comes…I love you. Good-bye.

We all have saying good-bye stories. What are yours? Would you share them with me? I would love to hear the feelings you had and how you got through.

Until then, I pray that the God of peace would give you comfort that surpasses anything you expected and though possible. And I pray that you will take this gift of love and share it with others who are hurting because they too, are saying good-bye to someone they love.
