Receiving Blessings

Receiving blessings of any kind; compliments, love, friendships, and even the truth, is sometimes hard for us to do, especially for the person who is co-dependent.

life, life coach, living well, authentic living

Do you find this to be true in your life?

Sometimes we are so wrapped up in trying to believe the story-line we have convinced ourselves to be true, because we MUST believe it to continue on with the false life we are living, that we are unable or unavailable to receive blessings.

This is so sad.

I came across these words in Jesus Calling today:

…In this age of independence, people find it hard to acknowledge their neediness. However, I have taken you along a path that has highlighted your need for Me: placing you in situations where your strengths were irrelevant and your weaknesses were glaringly evident. Through the aridity of those desert marches, I have drawn you closer and closer to Myself. You have discovered flowers of Peace blossoming in the most desolate places…

I like those words. I find them to be true in my life at this very moment. I can hardly believe the things I have experienced, yet I am learning to accept them, one day at a time, and with that acceptance comes a peace I didn’t know existed.

And I have found that I like living a life of peace. It’s so much better than all the chaos.

It is true that even in those hard times, the lowest of lows in our lives, perhaps even because of those hard times,  that if we are open, well, that is when we learn this to a greater degree, and receiving blessings becomes second nature to us.

No matter what you have been through or where you find yourself today, receiving blessings as they come our way is a powerful gift that comes from a Power greater than ourselves.

I wish for you during this holiday season, the art of receiving blessings.
