One Step Too Slow

living well, authentic living, life coach

A couple of years ago I wrote a post called My Daughter Is My Hero.

She still is.

The other night she and I were talking about some life events we are experiencing as a family and she shared a journal entry with me that she had written a few years ago. I didn’t even know she could write like that!

My daughter has faced challenges and issues all of her life, but she doesn’t let them limit her or define who she is. She is a strong and courageous woman and I am honored to call her my daughter and friend. I learn many valuable lessons from her and I always have.

With her permission I give you One Step Too Slow

Do you ever feel like you are one step slower than the rest of the world?

I know I do. When I was a child and taking dance lessons, I remember we would all do turns or jumps from one end of the room to the other. It seemed like I was always the last one done. It would take me twice as long as all of my classmates.

I was thinking, if I was taking dance lessons all by myself would I have known I was too slow? No, because I would have nothing to compare myself to.

It doesn’t really matter how long it takes us as long as we get to where we want to be.

Maybe we should just live our lives without comparing to everyone else.

Then we would never feel like we were one step too slow again.
