Glitter Pumpkins

Fall is here. Pumpkins are everywhere! Time to get my glitter on!

The Sits Girls had these adorable glitter pumpkins on their site this week and I knew I was going to give it a go as soon as I saw them. I ran a few errands Saturday morning  to collect the items I would need for this fun project and then I let my creative self loose.

The pumpkins.

I wanted medium sized pumpkins which I found at Wal-Mart.

I also had to make a stop at Michaels for some glitter! Gotta love those coupons in the Sunday paper.

I painted my pumpkin section by section with Mod Podge the wonder goo. Then I sprinkled the mod podgey sections with glitter…Martha Stewart is what I used. The Sits Girls tutorial said to roll the pumpkin in the glitter but that didn’t quite work for me.

I also opted to do this deed on the deck. So when I said it was time to get my glitter on I meant it literally. A messy job as glitter always is, but outside with a slight breeze blowing…well you can imagine.

Here’s the first one.

Then I got busy on the second one. I chose a different glitter color and this is what I got!

As you can see I didn’t quite cover every square inch but I totally like the end result. I added a ribbon and some twine and BAM!

The finished product makes the porch look Fall-ish.
