Yesterday was Father’s Day and a birthday today, my mom! It seems we always lump the two days together which is not really fair to my mother. Today is a milestone birthday of sorts and we are celebrating the occasion today…on her birthday…with no Father’s Day involve.
I am very blessed to have my dad with me still and blesse to have been able to spend the day with him yesterday. He is a kind and gentle soul who loves his family with a fierce love. I wouldn’t trade dads for anything in the world.
I love my mother with all my heart. I am coming to appreciate her more and more, especially as I get to know her on a more personal level and not just in the role of my mother. What is it about growing older that helps us to see things differently? She is strong and tender. She is creative and supportive. She is loyal and sentimental. I see where I get a lot of my traits.
What would I do without these too generous souls? I don’t want to find out for a good long time.
Today is your birthday, Mom! Enjoy the day and time with those you love.
Your mom is a very special person. I still remember her teaching me at church at FCBC when I was very young. She has always been very kind to me, and I know how proud
she is of you!
