I took a trip down memory lane this morning. Not a relaxing stroll, I must say, but necessary nonetheless. Do you dare to look back?
It happened three years ago today.
How could I ever forget? We moved from our home of thirteen years because our rental properties and our personal house were being foreclosed on.
I could regale you with the facts and figures; the mistakes made and bad decisions, and even the extremely painful year after, while my family and I adjusted to living in a three bedroom apartment while attempting to find a new normal.
I won’t though.
Although I dared to look back, and I’m sure I will again, these days I’m looking ahead.
And that’s a very nice place to be.
If you’re in a dark place, hang on. It won’t last forever.
And if you’re there now, blindly groping your way around, don’t despair~ there are lessons to learn, as painful as it seems.
And if you do open your heart; your mind to the possibilities beyond the present situation, life can be sweet, very sweet indeed.
And one day in the not too distant future, dare to look back and see what God has done.
Oh so powerful and so beautiful Laurie! I am so glad you made it through this dark season of your life, and you are an inspiration to so many!!
I love this post. I love this message. I love this truth.
