Boldness

I ran across an old post I don’t even remember writing. Boldness was the topic of discussion. I looked up the definition and this is what it said: Not hesitating or fearful in the face of actual or possible danger or rebuff;Life coach, choosing to grow, authentic you, true intimacy, Louisville coach, transitioning women courageous and daring: a bold hero. I would like to add, feeling fear but doing it anyway.

Following is the post Just Do It.

Pondering boldness today. A magazine article featured the story of a couple who set sail across the Pacific Ocean on a small ship. One night a storm arose and tossed the ship about until it finally capsized, killing the man. The woman said she had sensed danger and warned her companion but he refused to listen. In the article she berated herself for not taking more power in the dangerous situation before tragedy struck. Because the man was the ‘captain’, she felt it wasn’t her place to argue too much. At one point in the article she said, “I should have been more adamant. I should have been more bold. Perhaps if I had been, the boat would not have sunk, and there would be two of us alive today.”

What is the cost of timidity? What has it costs me personally for my lack of boldness? And the rewards of being bold…what are they? It has been said that “He who hesitates is lost.” And, “Not to decide, is to decide.”

Questions: What would you do if you were ten times bolder?
When and what has it cost you in life for your lack of boldness? What has the absence of boldnessĀ cost your family?

Those are hard questions to answer. What if we don’t like the answers to those questions? How can boldness play a bigger role in your life?

It takes boldness to live out our daily lives, our hopes, dreams, and our faith. The good news is we don’t have to do it alone. There is boldness in having a group of people who love and support you. Some call it a “We”.

Do you have a “We” in your life?

Empowering women to recreate their life stories and dance in the fulfillment of their dreams.
