A Letter to Daughters

I stumbled upon this incredible letter from a dad to his daughter on, well...Stumble Upon. I think the letter is inspiring, to say the least. It gives me hope that there are people out there who are raising kids with a sense of self-love instead of falling into our modern day culture of living to please others.

life coaching, relationships, the man you marry

This letter encourages me because I see there are still people who are instilling values and purpose into the lives of kids who will, in turn, raise their children in the same manner. If that continues to happen, who knows what tomorrow will bring?

I can’t publish the article here without permission from the author, however, I will give you a snippet in hopes that you will click the link and go read the rest of what this dad had to say about the man his daughter will one day marry.

I would love for you to come back and tell me what you think about the letter. And then I ask you to return again to this blog and read another article written by yours truly entitled Pink, Tiaras and Glitter.

Here is how the letter from the dad to his daughter begins:

Dear Cutie-Pie,

Recently, your mother and I were searching for an answer on Google. Halfway through entering the question, Google returned a list of the most popular searches in the world. Perched at the top of the list was “How to keep him interested.”

It startled me. I scanned several of the countless articles about how to be sexy and sexual, when to bring him a beer versus a sandwich, and the ways to make him feel smart and superior.

And I got angry.

That’s all I can give you, but here is the link to read the rest of the letter: A Daddy’s Letter to His Little Girl (About Her Future Husband).

The rest of the letter is as good as the beginning. It leaves no doubt that this little girl is cherished and loved and deserves to receive nothing less from her future husband.

I wish all the little girls in the world had this kind of dad. I wish even more that they all received this message.

And for all the little girls who are all grown up and never got this message from their dads, go back and read it again. Read it from your father who may or may not have had the knowledge to say these things to you. I’m sure he did the best he could.

You are special.

You are worthy.

You are a gift to be treasured.

I like to recommend this book for everyone who is in a relationship or soon to be in one. It is worth the investment: The 5 Love Languages: The Secret to Love that Lasts by Gary Chapman. That is an affiliate link which means if you click on that link and purchase the book, I make a little money which helps keep this blog up and running!
