Do you have teenage kids? It’s a hard phase. Here is a list of 16 things to remember if you have teens.

My kids are adults now and haven’t seen the teenage years in a long while. I have to admit, however, I miss those times. I loved driving them and their friends around to all the places they needed to be and wanted to go. I know it’s a hard time too, so I composed a list of 16 things to remember if you have teens.

1. This too shall pass. (all too quickly).

2. It is typical for teens to make dumb, often rash decisions, that’s why they have you.

3. They are really speaking English even if it doesn’t sound like it. Learn to decipher.

4. Screamo is considered music. (I just aged myself).

5. Junk food probably won’t kill them. It didn’t.

This isn’t an exhaustive list, just 16 things to remember if you have teens.

6. Just because they look at you like you’re stupid doesn’t mean you are. That’s a big one!

7. The little person you loved so much is in there somewhere it just looks different.

8. Friends are more important than family. Not really but they will discover that for themselves some day.

9. The opposite sex is more important than family and friends. That doesn’t change, which is a good thing if they marry.

10. It was a long time ago when they decided it was a good idea for a teen to drive. This phase builds your prayer life.

12. The teen years are temporary. Again, it goes by fast.

I am blessed to have great kids. But they have had their moments! Although I have often spoken the words, “I just wanted a baby“, I wouldn’t change a thing. It is a pleasure to watch them grow into responsible, caring adults.
